Frogfruit (Phyla nodiflora) is a low, creeping member of the verbena family. It grows along creek banks, across the Texas Hill Country, and in any lawn that’s gone a while without mowing. After abundant early summer rains, we harvested the tender leaves and flowers to make this single-herb extract.
Frogfruit is part of traditional herbal medicine in India and Taiwan, where people have used it as a tea and as a fresh poultice. In the Philippines, a tea of the leaves and flowering tops was traditionally used for digestion. This use comes from tradition and has not been tested in clinical studies.
Ingredients: Phyla nodiflora, organic alcohol, glycerine.
